Updates & Thanks

Thank you for your continued support as we continue to monitor the activities of Port Colborne Quarries daily. The Niagara Water Protection Alliance is not going away!
#WaterIsLife

First item – Our first Town Hall Meeting since the lifting of the COVID restrictions was June 20, 2022.
We would once again like to thank everyone who attended and for your generous donations. Since that meeting we have streamlined our presentation and are planning another Town Hall. If anyone has any suggestions or comments about that meeting, please feel free to contact us. We are always looking for ways to improve!

We are planning our next Town Hall Meeting for sometime in November.

Second item – NWPA Labour Day Weekend Garage Sale Fundraiser
Our Labour Day weekend garage sale was a huge success! A special thank you to Betty Konc and her family for allowing us to use their property and facilities. Thank you to all who donated items to this sale and thanks to our board members who made donations to the sale and helped out the day of the sale! We were able to raise $666.50, including some cash donations.

Third item: At our latest board meeting we were excited to learn from our Secretary Treasurer that the NWPA received a very generous donation from the Lorraine Bay Association. The board sent a thank you letter to the Association.

Fourth item: Port Colborne BIA Harvest Fest is this Saturday, September 23, 2023.
The NWPA will have a tent and display setup at Harvest Fest – please stop by and say hello! There has been a change in location this year; most of the activities will be along Charlotte Street between West and Catherine Streets, including the Market Square.

Finally, our thanks to all our supporters – and a request to share the news to as many people possible! Our fresh water is precious, and we aim to keep it clean – not just for us, but for many generations ahead!
