The NWPA is a non-partisan group formed in 2019 by concerned citizens committed to protecting our water. We believe that clean, safe drinking water is a basic human right. Our Mandate: To protect our Aquifer. We welcome your support!

We believe that fresh, clean water is a human right – and that we (as citizens) should be responsible for ensuring this right is upheld and carried forward for future generations. We hold government and industry accountable for their actions…and their inaction.

The Niagara Water Protection Alliance is a registered Not-For-Profit Corporation (OCN:1000022286)

We operate an alliance of conservation-minded people for the purposes of:

  • uniting all persons interested in the conservation of potable (safe/drinkable) water in the southern area of the Region of Niagara
  • gathering and exchanging ideas, data and statistical, scientific, hydrological, hydrogeological, and related current events information
  • promoting the protection and appreciation of potable water resources
  • fundraising, as required, to support the efforts of a), b), and c) listed above; and such other complementary purposes not inconsistent with these objects

Living in the Niagara Region, we sit upon two great natural resources: the Niagara Escarpment (now included in the UNESCO Niagara Escarpment Biosphere Reserve) and the Onondaga Formation (which includes the Onondaga Aquifer, a primary fresh water source for thousands of residents in southern Ontario and Western New York State).
